OVERVIEW OF THE 100 HOURS YOGA TEACHER TRAINING SYLLABUS

Mantra Chanting

We like calling it Mantropathy. It helps with healing and environmental cleansing. Mantra chanting generates positive vibrations and connects one with the universe. Our yoga students will learn the different mantras in their traditional Sanskrit form. Emphasis is given on not just chanting, but also at grasping their meaning and significance.This subject includes

  • In depth study of mantras
  • Significance of vibrations and how it aids in spiritual advancement as well as its impact in the body and mind
  • Understanding music from a yoga point of view and how repeated incantations prepare the body to practice yoga
Study of Yoga Asanas

Hatha Yoga was the beginning of the culture of practicing asanas. It has since reached its modern form of Iyengar Yoga. Thus, Hatha and Iyengar are also called the two pillars of modern yoga, with one focusing on the precision of the asanas and the other on the flow of yoga.

As a yoga teacher training school, we attempt to provide you with this perfect combination of multistyle yoga so the Mind and Body can start working in harmony with one another. Focus is kept on body alignment, asana variations, modifications, hands on adjustments and minimizing the risk of injuries.

Breathwork (Pranayama)

Breath is essential to life. Hence , it is a central part of all yoga teaching and practice. Pranayama is considered to be the foundation of Yoga. In addition to its elevated spiritual aspect, just the mental and physical aspects have life changing potential.

Breath is so important in yoga because just the practice of proper Pranayama is enough to transform your inner being and connect with the higher consciousness.

Teaching Methodology

Yoga Philosophy

We have two kinds of classes when it comes to philosophy: lectures as well as Satsangs. Lectures are teacher driven while Satsangs are interactive and give you the opportunity to expand and challenge the confines of your mind.

We also explore all the various Vedanta philosophies as well as the philosophy of Hatha and Iyengar Yoga forms. You will also receive instructions on how the yogic traditions look at food’s place in yoga. This subject includes:-

  • Concepts and the History of yoga
  • The essential paths of yoga (Jnana, Raja, Bhakti, Karma Yoga)
  • Knowledge of Nadis, Chakras and kundalini
  • The four Vedas the six systems of Indian philosophy

Cleansing Techniques (Shat Karma)

Shatkarma helps create a strong, healthy and clean body so it can prepare and execute yogic postures with ease. This technique emphasises detoxification and rejuvenation. It involves Jala Neti, Sutra Neti and all other important components of Shatkarma.

Some mantras are also practiced so that the physical expulsion is accompanied with full awareness of the spirit and the mind.

  • Chanting of different mantras like Gayatri mantra
  • All six six groups of cleansing practices in Shatkarma
  • The basics of the Pranic streams as well as the three Doshas
Meditation (Dhyana)

Meditation enables the yogi to train the mind and achieve a mode of consciousness in order to achieve an emotionally calm and stable state. We use a range of methods honed by our yoga gurus through years of experience.

We focus on our yoga teacher training program providing you with developing your own personal meditation practice as well as guiding your own future students in an impactful manner. Practice includes:.

WHAT CAN YOU DO AFTER COMPLETING THE 100 HOURS YTTC ?

The 100 hours yoga programme at Rishikesh yoga international is designed for those who are exploring short term courses. The YTTC Course is offered in two different semesters.

(Semester 1 is 100 hours YTT)

This semester allows the students to study the first two weeks of the four weeks of the 200 hours teacher training course . Students can later come back to Rishikesh Yoga International to complete the 200 hours course since they have already completed the 100 hours yoga teacher training course. Adding 100 more hours and completing the 200 hours TTC will give the training certificate for that as well. Students can return anytime within 24 months of completing the 100 hours yoga teacher training course.

CODE OF CONDUCT AT RISHIKESH YOGA INTERNATIONAL

Yoga without the requisite amount of discipline in life is meaningless. The human body is sensitive to even the slightest lifestyle changes. Our 100 hours Yoga Teacher Training programme is designed to be completed with balanced ideals. We want our yoga students to have enough time to contemplate on the subjects and topics studied throughout the day. Hence, we expect all students to follow a schedule.

  • Learners are expected to wake up early every morning.
  • Learners are expected to be calm and respectful during the entire duration of the course both inside and outside premises.
  • Learners are expected to not drink or smoke for the duration of the course.
  • Learners are expected to maintain silence between 10.00 pm to 4.00am.
  • Learners are expected to complete their homework regularly.
  • Learners are expected to attend all the classes unless there is an emergency or exigency.
  • Learners are expected to inform the staff in advance if they are choosing to forgo a meal to avoid wastage.
  • Learners are expected to not use their mobile phones, laptops,tablets or any other electronic device during the classes.
  • The Rishikesh yoga international school does not allow any guests of students. Activities not related to the yoga training curriculum are not allowed on the premises.
  • At the end of the course, there will be an assessment for certification as a part of the evaluation procedure.
  • Please note that Rishikesh Yoga International School reserves the right to disqualify a learner anytime during the time of the course for misconduct.
